A tree line along Cornwallis Avenue in Tonbridge is going back to its 1930s roots with a replanting scheme of exactly the same species as when Lord Cornwallis, a Chairman of Kent County Council, opened the road exactly 90 years ago.
The initials of the tree types, among hundreds of thousands to be planted across Kent by today’s County Council, spell out the Cornwallis name: Cherry, Oak, Robinia, Norway Maple, Whitebeam, Ash, Laburnum, Laburnum, Ilex and Salix. https://bit.ly/3emStsK
